Join us at Hatch Auditorium, 2nd Floor in the Guggenheim Pavilion using the 1468 Madison Avenue entrance. Check-in with AMA Foundation staff and enjoy a light breakfast before entering the auditorium.

Note: We will be in the Guggenheim Pavilion, Hatch Auditorium, 2nd Floor until 10:30 am when we break for our workshops. During check-in, you may indicate which workshop you plan to attend on Day 2.

Dr. George C. Yen and AMA Foundation Executive Director, Ginger Spitzer welcome attendees to the second day of the convening.

Dr. Jenny Siegel will highlight progress and attendees will strategize dissemination and resources to support the milestones. (Refinement will take place virtually and will integrate feedback from the convening)

9:40-10:30 am / Plenary Session  1 - Substance Use in LGBTQ+ Communities

Maria Rahmandar, MD and Cage Hall, MD PhD review the context of substance use and substance use disorders among LGBTQ+ populations, the importance of screening for substance use, and considerations for confidentiality & rapport, especially with minor patients.

Achieving Health Equity for Rural Transgender and Gender Diverse People in the United States

This presentation will focus on health and health care access disparities experienced by rural transgender and gender diverse people in the United States, as well as innovative interventions and strategies for addressing these disparities.

Elana and Omar will present the current state of laws targeting gender-affirming care, the legal framework, considerations for providers, and what comes next for trans youth.
