Workshop: Enhancing Graduate Medical Education to Foster LGBTQIA+ Leaders

Overview: LGBTQIA+ patients experience significant health disparities, many of which occur at systemic levels. Dedicated seminars structured to cover quality improvement, community engagement, program development, and research strategies play a pivotal role in imparting essential skills to future LGBTQIA+ leaders. This workshop provides an overview of the seminar structures and showcases various deliverables and how they were achieved through the different didactic, research, and mentorship components.

Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will: 1.) Describe the importance of dedicated leadership training in LGBTQIA+ fellowships. 2.) Explore the process of crafting seminars aimed at imparting essential skills to future LGBTQIA+ leaders. 3.) Highlight current seminar frameworks and demonstrate their application through examples of deliverables
