George Yen, MD AAHIVS (he/him/his) received his bachelor’s degree in microbiology, immunology, and molecular genetics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his MD from the State University of New York at Downstate. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center before returning to UCLA as clinical faculty in 2014.
In 2018, he completed a medical education fellowship through DGSOM which supported him in creating the first LGBTQ+ Fellowship Program at the time. Dr. Yen is the faculty lead in LGBTQ+ Health for the IM Residency as well as the lead for the Department of Medicine’s LGBTQ+ Junior Faculty Development Program.
He also serves as core faculty in the Primary Care Residency and in the DGSOM’s first-year MS1 curriculum. His clinical interests are in care for the MSM community, PrEP, PEP, HIV primary care, HIV treatment, and management.
