Dr. Hayden Shafer (He/him) is an assistant professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center who is core faculty at VIVID, VUMC's LGBTQ+ Health Clinic. He specializes in the delivery of LGBTQ+ primary care and gender affirming care across the state. He is a course director for the VUMC Medical School's Immersion Science Course in LGBTQ+ Health, and a curriculum director for the LGBTQ+ Health Fellowship at VUMC.

He has also worked in VUMC's acute care clinics through the COVID-19 pandemic as part of the outpatient COVID evaluation services. He has been featured on the medical education podcast "Primary Care Review and Perspectives", covering topics of LGBTQ+ care.He joined Vanderbilt in 2022 as core faculty for the residency program and to assist in the development of the LGBTQ+ Healthcare Fellowship and Clinic.
