  • Dunn S, Kozler A, Potter J.

Overview: Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual (LGBTQIA+) individuals endure profound healthcare disparities that are well documented in the literature, yet there continues to be a lack of training and rigorous standardization across centers of graduate and undergraduate medical education. This poster describes a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary process of designing a rigorous set of competencies for providers skilled in gender and sexual minority health.

Objectives: 1.) Explain the importance of enhanced graduate medical education in LGBTQIA+ health; and, 2.) Outline the process of designing a novel LGBTQIA+ health competency set for primary care-oriented training programs.
